ROAD DATABANK

Road Databank, department of Slovak Road Administration, is responsible for operation of Central technical Register of Roads, determination of Abnormal Transport Routes and operation of Traffic Information Centre. These activities represent the duty of Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic given in Act No. 135/1961 Coll.

Operational Area for all of Road Databank activities is the whole Road Network in Slovakia, particularly motorways, expressways, state, regional, local Roads and since 1st January 2017 also municipal Roads.

Operation of Road Databank represents wide range of processes, which are supported by modern information technologies covering data collection, data processing and data use. There are running a lot of software applications and software tools under Information System of Road Network Model.

Road Network Model is central database where all the data of Central technical Register of Roads are stored. Data Model of reference Road Network is being created in accordance to STN EN ISO 14825:2012-01 – Intelligent Transportation Systems, Geographic Data Files (GDF), (ISO 14825: 2011).

An update of the infrastructure for providing data of the central technical registry of roads via web services on September 13, 2019 is planned. The freely available web services will be available directly through the Road Data Bank website after this change.
