Determination and assessment of excessive and oversized transport routes is the responsibility of the Slovak Road Administration, Road Databank Department.
excessive and oversized transport
According to the Decree of the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic No. 134/2018 Coll., if a vehicle or vehicle combination, including the transported cargo, exceeds the maximum permitted dimensions specified in Section 4 (hereinafter referred to as "oversize transport") or exceeds the maximum permitted weights pursuant to Section 5 (hereinafter referred to as "oversize transport"), this is oversized transport or excessive transport, which may only be carried out on the basis of a permit for special use of roads pursuant to Section 8 of Act No. 135/1961 Coll. on Land Communications (Road Act), as amended.
Special use of roads for oversized and oversize transport is permitted by the relevant district office if the transport route exceeds the territorial jurisdiction of one district office. If the transport route exceeds the territorial boundary of the region, it is authorized by the district office in the site of the region in whose territory the transport begins.
If the application for a permit for special use of land roads requires the determination of a transport route, this is determined through the information system of the road network model/ application Transport Routes (IS RNM/Transport Routes).
